Precision fermentation startup Vivici closes seed funding

In the Netherlands, dairy protein alternative startup Vivici has secured seed funding with backing from founding investors dsm-firmenich Venturing and Fonterra. The size of the funding was not disclosed.

Vivici has built expertise in bioprocess development, scale-up, and know-how in the extraction and application of dairy proteins and says it is strategically positioned commercialize animal-free dairy proteins produced via precision fermentation techniques. The technology will help meet global demand, which is set to double by 2050, in a sustainable and humane way.

Stephan van Sint Fiet, CEO of Vivici, said in a press statement that Vivici’s experienced team will “build Vivici into a precision fermentation leader that contributes to a future-proof food system.”
