Three contenders seeking to buy Snam’s biomethane subsidiary
At the table are F2i, Edison and Retina Biometano, three operators with very different industrial and financial profiles and, above all, with different strategies than the perimeter of Bioenerys. Precisely this differentiation could be decisive for the outcome of the tender: while some suitors would seem to be interested only in one of the two main divisions of the company, another would aim at the acquisition of the entire perimeter.
According to the rumors, F2i would in fact focus its interest on the Agri division, while Edison would have put on the radar especially the Forsu division, the one linked to the valorization of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste. Retina Biomethane, on the other hand, would be interested in Bioenerys as a whole. A configuration that therefore also opens to the possibility of a sale with a possible break-up between the Agri and Forsu activities, instead of through a full sale of the company.
