OnEnergy, US-based HyOrc partner on waste-to-methanol plant in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, SeeNews reported that U.S.-based waste-to-fuels and external combustion technology developer HyOrc Corporation has signed a binding project development and technology agreement with Bulgarian waste treatment firm OnEnergy Group to develop a waste-to-methanol plant in Bulgaria.
HyOrc will lead the preparation of the technical components of the project and is the technology partner for Stage 3 of the project, which will focus on the thermochemical conversion of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) into green methanol, according to the report.
The new plant will aim to process around 50,000 tons of RDF per year, with a daily throughput of 150–155 tons, underpinning a projected methanol production capacity of 38–42 tons per day. The facility will be part of a broader integrated waste-to-energy platform, the report added.
