OMV Petrom receives first module for Petrobrazi 20 MW green hydrogen plant
In Bulgaria, See News reported that Romania’s top oil and gas group OMV Petrom said that German hydrogen technology company Neuman & Esser has delivered the first electrolyzer module for the production of green hydrogen at the Petrobrazi refinery, to be installed and connected to the power network.
“Starting the delivery of the modules for the 20 MW green hydrogen capacity marks an important step in transforming the Petrobrazi refinery into the largest sustainable fuel production hub in the region, contributing at the same time to the achievement of Romania’s NRRP [National Recovery and Resilience Plan] targets,” OMV Petrom board member responsible for refining and marketing Radu Caprau said in a press release.
Neuman & Esser will deliver the remaining three modules in the following months.
The 20 MW green hydrogen plant will have a production capacity of about 3,000 tons of green hydrogen per year and will support the production of biofuels at Petrobrazi, the report added.
