Kansai Electric and partners ink agreement for hydrogen production study in Shiga
In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that Kansai Electric and a number of partners will leverage the geographical characteristics and convenient transportation of Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, which serves as a hub connecting the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions in Japan, to promote the development of infrastructure that will serve as a green hydrogen production and supply base in an inland area.
The Shiga Prefecture will be in charge of studying the utilization of hydrogen and other resources necessary for improving the efficiency of hydrogen supply facilities., while Maibara City will analyze consideration of public-private partnerships for land use in the surrounding area toward the realization of the Ibuki Smart Interchange.
Meanwhile, Kansai Electric Power will carry out a comprehensive study from hydrogen supply to utilization.
Other partners include Daiwa House Industry, Chiyoda Corporation and Meijo Nanocarbon.
