LanzaTech SPAC heads to shareholder vote

In Chicago, special purpose acquisition company AMCI Acquisition Corp. II has scheduled a special meeting of its stockholders to vote on the proposed business combination with LanzaTech.

Founded in 2005, LanzaTech transforms waste carbon into materials such as sustainable fuels, fabrics, packaging, and other products that people use in their daily lives. The vote is to be held February 1 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

“This transaction will enable a significant acceleration in the deployment of our [carbon capture and transformation] technology, bringing us as a society, one step closer to achieving a circular carbon economy and finding a solution for the challenges of decarbonizing modern heavy industry,” Dr. Jennifer Holmgren, Chief Executive Officer of LanzaTech, says in a press statement.

First announced on March 8th, 2022, the merger will see the company renamed LanzaTech Global, Inc. Its common stock is expected to be listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “LNZA.”
