Cricket treats fails to impress the Shark Tank

In California, a line of protein bars made from ground up crickets failed to open any wallets of Shark Tank’s “sharks”.

According to CNBC, Pat Crowley went on Shark Tank—a popular reality show in which entrepreneurs pitch business ideas and inventions to a panel of investors, or “sharks”—looking for funding for his company, Chapul. The business makes protein bars from cricket flour.

Though flavors are included to mask the buggy taste, the tank was unmoved. “There is no way I’m eating that,” Mr. Wonderful said.

Crawley is reportedly unfazed, and simply says America will “catch up with the rest of the world” in adding insects to its protein sources.
