NantBioRenewables boosts capacity in Alabama

April 13, 2026 |

In Alabama, renewable foodservice products company NantBioRenewables has expanded its manufacturing capabilities at its Gadsden production site. The new capacity also broadens NantBioRenewables’ material platforms, custom resin formulation and compounding capabilities, and thermoforming capacity to support customers across foodservice, consumer packaged goods, and specialty packaging.

The expanded facility now manufactures across polypropylene, polyethylene, and multiple bioplastic platforms, including TÜV-certified home-compostable and BPI-certified commercially compostable materials.

“Our customers want performance, compliance, and reliability and they want it without the long lead times and variability that come with offshore production,” said Kenn Budlong, COO and Chief Engineering Officer. “By manufacturing in Alabama, we can offer short lead times, customer-friendly [Minimum Order Qauntities, and a level of quality oversight that is difficult to achieve when production is happening 6,000 miles away.”
