Mewery raises funds for cultivated pork rollout

March 23, 2026 |

In the Czech Republic, cultivated pork startup Mewery has added Vesna VC to its stable of investors. Vesna VC invested several hundred thousand euros into the €7 million (US$8 million) seed round, which Mewery said is about halfway finished. It is expected to close by the third quarter.

Mewery also announced that it has achieved one of the highest yield densities reported in the cultivated meat sector. “Yield density refers to the amount of biomass produced per liter of cultivation volume – in our case, 300 grams per liter. It’s a key indicator of how efficiently a bioprocess uses space and inputs,” Mewery CTO Moria Shimoni, told Green Queen. “Higher yield density directly improves unit economics.” The company hopes to gain regulatory approval in Singapore, EU, US, and UK by the end of next year.
