May 21, 2026 |

In India, IndexBox reports CIST Technology plans to supply bio-methanol and green ammonia for marine bunkering in India and Singapore from a proposed facility in Maharashtra. Developed through subsidiary Yoki Green Energy, the plant will use biomass gasification and electrolysis to produce 200,000 metric tons of bio-methanol and 100,000 metric tons of green ammonia annually. The project, backed by approximately $414 million from the Maharashtra government, will support marine fuel demand and integrate green hydrogen production and carbon capture. Initial operations are expected in 2028, with full production targeted by the end of 2029.
