Brazilian soybean exports fell in March, but increased 6% in Q1
In Brazil, CNN Brasil reported that Brazilian soybean exports in March fell 1% in volume compared to the same period last year, to 14.52 million tons, according to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).
Compared to February, shipments more than doubled, since the market already accounts for soybeans harvested in 2026 in March, a year in which Brazil projects a record crop, according to the report.
March is traditionally one of the months with the highest volumes of oilseed exports from Brazil, precisely because it includes the newly harvested soybeans, but there were reports of incidents at the beginning of the month, such as the suspension of shipments by Cargill , while the Ministry of Agriculture adopted stricter phytosanitary inspections for exports to China, the largest importer, the report added.
In the first quarter, Brazilian exports increased 6.1%, to 23.5 million tons, according to data from Secex.
