Soybean harvest reaches 82% of the area in Brazil

April 12, 2026 |

In Brazil, G1 reported that the soybean harvest for the 2025/26 crop in Brazil reached 82% of the cultivated area as of April 2, according to a survey by consulting firm AgRural. This represents an increase of seven percentage points compared to the previous week.

Despite the progress, the pace remains below that recorded during the same period last year, when work had already reached 87% of the planted area, according to the report.

Currently, the harvest is more concentrated in regions with a later agricultural calendar, such as Matopiba — which includes producing areas in Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí, and Bahia — and Rio Grande do Sul.

Meanwhile, in Paraná, second-crop corn fields remain under scrutiny due to low soil moisture, exacerbated by above-average temperatures, the report stated.

According to the consultancy, the situation is more critical in the western part of the state, where many crops have already entered the reproductive phase, it added.
