Rains improve conditions for late-planted soybeans in Argentina, exchange says

April 12, 2026 |

In Argentina, Reuters reported that rainfall in the last week helped improve the condition of late-planted soybeans in Argentina, where 80% of the crop is in normal to excellent condition, according to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC).

Argentina is the world’s largest exporter of soybean oil and meal, and the BdeC estimates that the 2025/26 production of the oilseed will be 48.5 million tons.

The rains also caused delays in the start of the soybean harvest. Producers have harvested 2.4% of the area dedicated to the crop, the Exchange said.

In the case of corn, the rains also delayed the harvesting of the cereal, whose collection is 21.6% complete, according to the entity’s report.
