Wheat planting picks up pace in Argentina after dry days Buenos Aires Grain Exchange says
In Argentina, Reuters reported that wheat planting accelerated again in Argentina last week thanks to mostly dry conditions reported in agricultural areas, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC) said.
The planting of the cereal for the 2026/27 cycle advanced 15.1 percentage points in the last week, the Exchange noted, adding that 80.9% of the 6.5 million hectares it anticipates for the crop have been sown.
Regarding Argentina’s soybeans and corn for the 2025/26 cycle, the entity said that the harvest of both crops is 99.1% and 52.9% complete, respectively.
According to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, the Argentine soybean harvest will be 50.1 million tons and the corn harvest a record 64 million tons, the report stated.
