Venture Energy Limited inks deal to purchase green methanol
In the Netherlands, Offshore Energy reported that Hong Kong-headquartered Venture Energy Limited has entered into an agreement with Shanghai Shenji Energy & Environmental Technology for the purchase of green methanol.
Under the procurement and supply agreement, Venture Energy will purchase ISCC EU-certified green methanol from Shenji Energy that fully complies with the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED), according to the report.
The first shipment is scheduled for delivery and loading in the first half of 2026. In addition to product supply, the partnership encompasses full-chain collaboration on biogas feedstock and green-fuel ISCC certificates, the report added.
“Produced from sustainable biomass feedstocks including municipal waste, crop straw, and livestock manure, this green methanol delivers significant carbon-reduction benefits. These environmental attributes enable downstream shipping clients to meet stringent regulatory requirements, including the EU ETS (Emission Trade Scheme) and the FuelEU Maritime Regulation,” Venture Energy said.
