Uzbekistan signs $6 billion deal to build major SAF production complex
In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Uzbekistan has moved to establish a large-scale sustainable aviation fuel industry with the signing of a $6.08 billion agreement to build an integrated biofuel complex in the Khorezm region.
The project, led by Allied Biofuels FE LLC in partnership with regional authorities, will focus on producing SAF along with electro-synthetic aviation fuel and green diesel, according to the report.
At full capacity, the complex is expected to produce over 160,000 tons of SAF annually, along with significant volumes of electro-synthetic fuel and green diesel.
The facility will be powered by a large renewable energy system and will use agricultural feedstock and captured carbon emissions to produce fuel, aiming for a zero-emission production cycle, the report added.
