Uruguay to supply German firm with 100,000 tons per year of certified e-methanol
In Uruguay, Strategic Energy reported that HIF Global inked a deal through which it will supply approximately 100,000 tons per year of e-methanol to German eFuel One.
The e-methanol supplied under this deal is expected to originate from HIF’s Paysandú project in Uruguay, according to the report.
The e-methanol supplied under this framework will comply with the specifications of the International Methanol Producers and Consumers Association (IMPCA) and will be certified under the European Union’s RED III Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) standards, the report added.
This announcement adds to HIF Global’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence in the European market, following its 2025 e-fuels purchase agreement with Mabanaft, another major German energy company.
