StoneX lowers its estimate for US corn productivity
In Brazil, CNN Brasil reported that commodity brokerage StoneX lowered its estimate for average U.S. corn yield in 2026 from 184.8 to 182.9 bushels per acre (bpa), compared to its previous monthly report released on August 4.
However, the company raised its corn production forecast to 16.207 billion bushels, up from 16.160 billion previously.
StoneX reported that it calculated the production based on planted area data provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which raised its national estimate of corn planted area on August 12.
For soybeans, StoneX maintained its 2026 yield forecast at 53.0 bpa, unchanged from the figure released on August 4. The company predicted US soybean production at 4.547 billion bushels, up from the previously estimated 4.470 billion.
