Repsol delivers co-processed B30 marine fuel to Norwegian Cruise Line
In Spain, Repsol announced Oct. 9 that it supplied co-processed B30 marine gasoil to a Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings vessel at the Port of Barcelona, using a hybrid bunkering vessel to reduce emissions during fuel delivery, Ship & Bunker reports.
The fuel combines conventional and renewable feedstocks through Repsol’s co-processing technology, integrating renewable materials such as used cooking oil into existing refinery processes rather than relying on dedicated biofuel production facilities.
The delivery was completed by Bahía Candela, Repsol’s chartered hybrid bunkering vessel, which used its onboard battery system instead of auxiliary engines during fuel transfer. The vessel entered service earlier this year.
The delivery falls under an eight-year agreement to supply renewable marine fuels, including biofuels and green methanol, to NCLH vessels calling at Barcelona. Repsol also offers co-processed marine fuel at Algeciras.
