In the Netherlands, bike gear and accessories company BBB Cycling has introduced a line of plant-based bike care products.
Sold under the simple brand name Bio, the line of assembly, maintenance, and cleaning products biodegrade within 28 days and are free of petrochemicals and microplastics. Examples include the BioSeal tire sealant, which is manufactured from cellulose fibers and natural latex sourced from sugar beet. The line’s lubrication and grease products are made from natural waxes and rapeseed oil.
The total Bio line includes BioWax Chain Lube, BioWax Pro Chain Lube, BioEbike Lube, BioSeal Latex Tyre Sealant, BioDrivetrain Cleaner, BioReadyWash Bike Shampoo, BioGloss Frame Wax Bike Polish, BioCarbonPaste Assembly Paste, and BioPaste Assembly Paste. BBB Cycling has set a goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2030.
