In Denmark, coffee byproduct upcycler has added new ingredients to its portfolio and will soon open an expanded production facility.

Since the start of 2023, Kaffee Bueno has launched three new ingredients for the personal care products, including one capable or replacing environmentally problematic argan and palm oils in haircare products. “[The new ingredient] contains a variety of nutrients, including vitamins, antioxidant, and fatty acids, which contribute to its hair-strengthening effects,” Kaffee Bueno cofounder Alejandro Franco told Cosmetics Design.

The company is also set to bring new capacity online in Denmark later this year. The plant will process over 500 tonnes of byproduct into sellable products annually. “[The biorefinery] will enable us to help the industries responsible for society’s well-being to accelerate the transition to natural, without compromising on costs, performance/efficacy, and most importantly, contributing to a regenerative environment,” Franco said.
