In the Netherlands, Be Good Friends and TotalEnergies Corbion have formally entered into a long-term collaborative arrangement for application development and supply of TotalEnergies Corbion’s Luminy PLA [polylactic acid].

BGF recently launched a single-use, 100% biobased and biodegradable noodle cup in South Korea. The foamed cup is the result of a joint development and uses high-heat Luminy PLA as a base resin. The most recent announcement sets the stage for follow-on offerings.

“The biopolymers market is experiencing strong growth and customers are requesting innovative solutions tailor-made to their market needs,” says Thomas Philipon, Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies Corbion, in a press statement. “Collaboration through the value chain is the only efficient way to bring circular solutions to the customers.”
