The stadium, which is host to Premier League’s Manchester United, will begin selling coffee and other hot beverages in cups made out of cookies, beginning this weekend. The cups are made by Scotland’s BioBite, which was launched two years ago by Samual Hvzind and Lyubomir Lambrev, then students at University of Aberdeen. The company’s goal is to replace single-use paper and plastic.
The 100-calorie cups remain leak-proof for 12 hours and crispy for 45 minutes. If fans would rather not add to their day’s calorie count, they can simply drop it into to the stadium’s compostable waste receptables.
