In the Netherlands, Chemical Engineering Online reports that GF Biochemicals has teamed with Oman-based Towell Engineering Group in a joint venture to produce bio-based levulinic acid as well as bio-solvents and bio-plasticizers using the levulinic acid. The JV called NXTLEVVEL Biochem will use GF Biochemicals’ proprietary technology and together will undertake both production and marketing based in the Netherlands alongside GF Biochemicals. The NXT SOLV range provides solutions for applications from agribusiness to flavors and fragrances to coatings and personal care.
