In the Netherlands, DSM has announced plans to introduce biobased or recycled alternatives for its entire engineering plastics portfolio by 2030.
The plan, announced at the recent K plastics trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany, calls for each engineering plastic product in its portfolio to offer at least 25% sustainable raw materials content by weight.
The company also launched at the show biobased grades of its Arnitel® and Stanyl® product portfolio manufactured via a mass-balancing approach to biobased feedstock.
“Our Arnitel® and Stanyl® biobased alternatives will deliver the same functional performance as our conventional portfolio. This will enable our customers to easily shift to a more sustainable solution without having to requalify materials,” says Joost d’Hooghe, Vice President Polyamides at DSM Engineering Plastic.
