In Florida, Anuvia Plant Nutrients, a company converting organic waste into fertilizers, has leased an idle Mosaic phosphate plant in Florida.

By repurposing Mosaic’s Plant City facility, Anuvia Plant Nutrients says it will be able to expand its capacity dramatically—bringing its total to 1.2 million tons annually. The company currently produces 80,000 tons per year at its Zellwood, Florida plant.

Plans also include adding 135 to its headcount when the retrofit is complete in the second quarter of 2020.

“In the three years since the Zellwood plant went online, the market has been receptive to our products and its unique benefits,” says Anuvia Plant Nutrients CEO Amy Yoder.  “And now in response to the increased demand, we are increasing our production capacity. It is gratifying that farmers are realizing the performance and environmental benefits Anuvia products bring to crop production.”

Research and extensive use indicates a positive yield increase which allows farmers to produce more food in a less intensive manner.
