In Canada, eco-friendly apparel and gear company, tentree, developed an eco-friendly backpack that is made from 100% REPREVE recycled polyester (usually recycled plastic water bottles) and BLOOM algae foam padding. BLOOM algae foam is the world’s first plant-based foam that has been formulated with algae biomass, according to tentree. BLOOM foam is made by harvesting the excess algae and transforms them into performance foam. Even the clips and buckles are made from recycled factory waste. The backpacks easily convert from 16L to 35L and are designed in Canada and made in Vietnam.
