In Sweden, Light My Fire, a producer of outdoor accessories useful for making fires, storing and eating meals outdoors has moved their entire product line over to biobased plastics. After two years of research and development, the products are now derived from renewable sources like corn, sugarcane, and tree cellulose.

Calill Odqvist Jagusch, LMF’s CEO, told Forbes, “By experimenting with various bio-based plastics, we’ve found a solution that meets our sustainability objectives while not compromising on our product’s functionality and durability.”

Jagusch said back in 2017 that the company had set a goal that their entire product range would consist of biobased plastics by 2019, which it now has achieved that goal. They own their own factory in Sweden where most of the plastic products are produced, making it a valuable asset when converting to biobased plastics by being able to test various bioplastics right in their factory.
