In France, hair-care heavyweight L’Oréal plans to launch a new professional-use color line made from 100% plant-based sources.

Dubbed Botena, the launch uses botanical dyes sourced from henna, indigo, cassia, and coco oil.

The range will be available in European salons starting in May 2018. The initial rollout will include about a third of salons that use L’Oréal products.

There are also reports the brand is developing a mass-market launch of similar, natural dyes.

Other beauty brands embracing natural ingredients include Lush, Neal’s Yard, and Tarte Cosmetics, according to Premium Beauty News.
