In New York, designer Jamela Law has created a 3D-printed fashion collection with honeycombs—one of nature’s strongest shapes—as its inspiration. The collection, called Beeing Human, primarily uses lignin-based 3D printing filament called BioFila Silk.

“The fusion of geometric, architectural and biological forms coming together on a human body is to question: why are we not fighting for Mother Nature if we humans are so passionate self-preservation and protection?” Law tells core77. “Beeing Human aims to convey an environmental message, encouraging people to rethink our relationship with nature by joining the dots,” she adds.

She used 3D printing to “democratize” fashion and cut down on wasted materials, she adds.
