In Iowa, DuPont Pioneer will be offering 54 new soybean varieties next year for farmers in the U.S. to choose from in their A-Series soybean offerings. The new varieties were bred using what DuPont Pioneer calls Accelerated Yield Technology 4.0. The technology uses genetic markers and phenotyping to predict which genetic attributes will be most successful and which won’t be so great. This helps DuPont Pioneer speed up the development of higher yield soybeans. In fact, they say the 2017 varieties will be the highest yielding varieties they have ever offered. Some of the new varieties will be Roundup Ready, some will be high oleic soybeans, and others will be glyphosate tolerant.
