In California, Alaina Austin, founder of Green Fire Genetics, has been working on creating new strains of cannabis, yes, marijuana, that no one else has available. Cannabis is currently legal in some form (recreational or medicinal) in 23 states and the District of Columbia, making a market demand for high quality pot. Austin announced her latest combination strain which will be released at the annual Green Emerald cup in Santa Rosa. While being a third generation farmer, Austin is embracing organic farming practices as well as integrating genetic breeding into making better cannabis crops.
