Morocco launches joint center of excellence in clean hydrogen in Casablanca
In Morocco, Morocco World News reported that Morocco launched a Joint Center of Excellence in Clean Hydrogen at the Hassania School of Public Works (EHTP) in Casablanca.
The initiative is designed to build a national ecosystem dedicated to applied research, technological innovation, and international cooperation in green hydrogen, green technologies, and the energy transition.
The Center of Excellence was developed through a partnership between EHTP, the Chinese company Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment, and its African joint venture Go For Hydrogen Africa, focusing on advancing clean hydrogen solutions.
It is equipped with a solar-powered electrolysis hydrogen production system, combined with a cogeneration unit and storage infrastructure. This setup will support applied research, the testing of innovative technologies, and the training of high-skilled talent adapted to emerging energy-sector needs, according to the report.
