MOL exploring sourcing green fuel from India
In Japan, ChemAnalyst reports Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is exploring opportunities to source biofuel, green ammonia, and green methanol from India to help decarbonize its shipping operations. CEO Jotaro Tamura said the company is evaluating several options, though no agreements have been finalized. The effort aligns with MOL’s “Blue Action 2035” strategy, which identifies India as a key market for green technology and business expansion. The initiative could drive investment in India’s green fuel infrastructure, strengthen trade ties with Japan, and support broader cooperation in logistics, energy transport, and shipbuilding.
