Ludoil lands $45.5M green bond for its Sicilian Engas project
Crédit Agricole Italia and UniCredit acted as Co-Arranger and underwriters of the transaction, confirming their role in support of Italian companies in the development of sustainable finance instruments and in the financing of industrial investments consistent with the energy transition objectives. Crédit Agricole Italia has also taken on the role of Paying Agent.
The Green Bond benefits from the support of SACE, as part of its intervention in support of strategic initiatives for the growth and competitiveness of the Italian production system.
The Engas plant will be located in the industrial area of Dittaino, in the territory of Enna, and represents an infrastructure relevant for the development of the circular economy in Sicily. The project involves the construction of an integrated anaerobic and composting digestion plant for the treatment of the organic fraction from separate collection and the green fraction, with an authorized capacity of about 69,000 tons per year, of which 51,000 tons / year of FORSU and 18,000 tons / year of green. The plant will be aimed at the production of biomethane intended for entry into the national network, contributing to the transformation of organic waste into reusable resources according to a model fully consistent with the principles of the circular economy.
