Aroeira to invest $144.7M in grains-based ethanol plant in Minas Gerais
In Brazil, Revistarpa News reports Bioenergética Aroeira, based in Tupaciguara, in Triângulo Mineiro, will invest R$ 750 million in the implementation of a grain-based ethanol plant. Of this amount, R$ 618 million are resources from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), already approved, and the rest are its own resources.
The development bank approved the loan in two operations. One includes R$ 310 million from the Climate Fund and R$ 105.5 million from the Finem line, for long-term investment projects. The other, of R$ 202.5 million, will be focused on the purchase of equipment and industrial production systems, with resources from the BNDES Machines and Services line.
The plant will have the initial capacity to process 330,000 tons per year of cereals, including corn and sorghum, and produce 146 million liters of ethanol annually. The company also estimates that the unit will produce 92,000 tons per year of dry distillery grains with solubles (DDGS), input for animal feed production.
