Italian pop artist KIRAS “creates beauty responsibly” with bioplastics

In Milan, contemporary pop-design artist KIRAS is using plant-based bioplastic to make 3D print wall sculptures that combine “vibrant aesthetics, sustainable materials, and meticulous craftsmanship.”Her works are showcased in galleries across Europe and “reinterpret the visual language” of today’s culture. “I create art to make people smile,” says KIRAS. “My pieces are meant to bring joy, energy, and a sense of playfulness into everyday spaces. Using sustainable materials is part of my commitment to creating beauty responsibly.”

KIRAS’ sculptures, including the recent “LIKE!”, “SMILE!”, “LOL!”, and “BANG!”, are produced through a hybrid process that merges digital modeling with artisanal finishing. Each piece is first printed in 3D bioplastic derived from sugarcane, then handsanded, assembled, detailed, and sealed by the artist herself. This combination of technology and craftsmanship has become a defining element of her artistic identity.

“Each sculpture is created to be a focal point,” the artist said in a press statement. “A burst of color that transforms a wall, a symbol that reflects modern life, a piece of joy you can live with every day.”
