Indonesia’s PTK reaffirms commitment to smooth biodiesel distribution
PTK said that integrated marine operations are key in maintaining energy supply between islands while supporting the growth of the national biodiesel ecosystem.
The role of PTK in the biodiesel ecosystem is growing in line with the development of the national biodiesel program. Since the initial phase of the national mandatory implementation of B2.5 in 2008, PTK has supported maritime connectivity in the Pertamina energy distribution network through vessel support, marine services, as well as ship and terminal operations.
The role then developed in 2019 when the needs of FAME distribution increased along with the expansion of the implementation of B20 and preparations towards the B30. In that period, PTK obtained an additional mandate to manage FAME Floating Storage and Ship-to-Ship operation in Balikpapan to provide additional storage capacity while increasing distribution flexibility to the Eastern Indonesia region.
