Indonesia opens second bidding round for strategic waste-to-energy projects

March 22, 2026 |

In Indonesia, Indonesia Business Post reported that Indonesia’s sovereign investment agency, Danantara Indonesia, through its investment arm PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has opened a second registration round for companies seeking to partner in the development of waste-to-energy (WtE) projects.

The new procurement phase follows the successful selection of partners for initial project clusters in Bekasi, Denpasar Raya, Bogor Raya, and Yogyakarta.

Danantara is inviting both domestic and international companies with proven technical expertise and strong financial capacity to join its Verified Provider List. The list functions as a prequalification mechanism, with only DPT-approved companies eligible to participate in the next stage of Indonesia’s multi-city waste-to-energy (PSEL) project rollouts.

Fadli Rahman, Director of Investment at PT Danantara Investment Management, said the reopening of the DPT aims to broaden the technology base and attract more diverse sources of global financing.
