India’s green hydrogen producers secure major export orders from Japan and Europe
In India, Forbes reports the country’s green hydrogen sector is moving from project announcements to binding export contracts, with ACME Group, AM Green and L&T Energy GreenTech securing long-term agreements for renewable ammonia and green methanol. AM Green won a 10-year agreement through Germany’s H2Global mechanism, with purchases worth at least €585 million (approximately $685 million) and initial deliveries expected in 2029. Other deals include Uniper’s commitment for up to 500,000 tons of ammonia annually, ACME’s Japanese agreements for ammonia and methanol, and L&T’s 300,000-tonne annual ammonia supply agreement with ITOCHU. Announced deals collectively cover up to 1.2 million tons of ammonia and 100,000 tons of methanol annually. The key challenge now is delivering projects on schedule and converting contracts into actual shipments.
