HyFive signs second e-methanol term sheet for HyMet Musel

July 29, 2026 |

In Spain, HyFive has signed a second term sheet covering 10,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually from its planned HyMet Musel project, bringing volumes covered by offtake term sheets to 60,000 tonnes a year.

The latest customer is based in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region. HyFive signed its first term sheet three months earlier for up to half of the project’s planned production.

HyMet Musel is being developed on Spain’s Atlantic coast with nominal capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year. The two term sheets now cover 60% of that output, giving the project prospective buyers for a majority of its production before construction.

HyFive has also signed a letter of intent with terminal operator Evos to examine storage and handling of the e-methanol at the Port of Rotterdam. The arrangement would provide a route from the Spanish production site into a major European marine fuel and industrial market.
