High humidity delays soybean harvest and wheat planting in Argentina, exchange says
In Argentina, Reuters reported that excessive soil moisture in southern Argentina’s agricultural region has caused delays in the 2025/26 soybean harvest and the 2026/27 wheat planting, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BdeC) said in a recent crop report
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimated soybean production at 50.1 million tons and the area to be sown with wheat at 6.5 million hectares, according to the report.
“The soybean harvest is concentrated in the southern part of the agricultural area, where part of the surface still needs to be harvested,” said the BdeC, which noted that the harvest of the oilseed is 97.2% complete.
The Exchange also indicated that the 2025/26 corn harvest is 48.2% complete. The entity estimates a record production of 64 million tons for the crop in Argentina.
