Green hydrogen set to dominate low-carbon output by 2030, research finds
In India, BioEnergy Times reported that green hydrogen is expected to make up nearly 88.6%of global low-carbon hydrogen production by 2030, according to the latest Low-Carbon Hydrogen Market Report by GlobalData.
The research firm said total low-carbon hydrogen capacity is likely to expand sharply over the rest of the decade, with green hydrogen taking the largest share of new production.
In 2024, blue hydrogen accounted for the majority of low-carbon output. However, its share is projected to decline significantly as capacity for green hydrogen, produced using renewable energy-powered electrolyzers, continues to grow.
According to GlobalData’s forecast, green hydrogen’s share is set to rise from about 14.9% of low-carbon production in 2024 to 88.6% by 2030, based on current capacity trends.
