Grain exchange increases estimates for soybean, corn production in Argentina
In Argentina, TN reported that the soybean harvest estimate in Argentina rose by 2 million tons (4.17%) to 50 million tons, according to the monthly national estimate released by the Rosario Board of Trade (BCR).
On the other hand, the report indicated that corn production continues to increase, rising from 67 to 68 million tons, representing a 1.49% increase.
“Another very good news is the good weather that, since the last week of April, has allowed for a spectacular recovery in harvesting activity . Soybeans are showing 61% progress nationwide. And this recovery is gaining momentum, which, while still far from what was seen a year ago, is nonetheless adding up, especially in the central, western, and northern regions of the country,” stated the BCR’s outlook regarding the oilseed.
Among the main adjustments, the core region added 800,000 tons, impacting production in Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, and Córdoba. La Pampa added 230,000 tons, and Chaco and Santiago del Estero together contributed an additional 740,000 tons, according to the report.
