Godavari Biorefineries to commission corn-cane biorefinery in June
In India, DevDiscourse reports Godavari Biorefineries is set to bring online its first corn-sugarcane biorefinery in June, located in key corn-growing area northern Karnataka, in an effort to reduce feedstock supply risk. Though more common now in Brazil, it is new to India. Thanks to corn, the facility will be able to produce ethanol year-round instead of being limited to the sugarcane harvest season. With cane pricing policy challenging for sugar millers, having corn as a backstop helps to provide more reliability and lower risk.
