Global SAF market to reach $31.4 billion by 2031, research finds
In Ireland, Research and Markets reported that the global sustainable aviation fuel market is projected to grow from $4.86 billion in 2026 to $31.45 billion by 2031, registering a compound annual growth rate of 45.3% during the forecast period.
The report noted that North America captured the largest share of the sustainable aviation fuel market in 2025. “Regional leadership was supported by strong government backing for renewable aviation fuel adoption, increasing SAF procurement by airlines and aviation companies, and sustained efforts to reduce emissions from flight operations.”
“The presence of major fuel producers and the development of long-term supply agreements are also supporting market growth across North American commercial aviation. Continued investment in renewable fuel production facilities, feedstock processing, refinery upgrades, and distribution infrastructure is expected to reinforce the region’s position in the global SAF market,” the report added.
