France’s Veolia and Japan’s Mitsubushi join 24-firm race in Indonesia’s waste-to-energy push
In Indonesia, Indonesia Business Post reported that twenty-four foreign companies − including major players from China, Hong Kong, France, and Japan − have entered the first-stage tender of Indonesia’s waste-to-energy (WtE) program, known locally as PSEL.
Among them are France’s Veolia and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, according to the report.
The first phase of the WtE tender covers four priority cities: Bali, Bogor, Bekasi, and Yogyakarta, with results expected this month.
The report noted that foreign bidders are required to form consortia with local partners − a condition designed not only to localize execution but also to ensure technology transfer to Indonesian firms and regional governments.
