FedEx expanding SAF procurement across five US airports in 2027
The agreements span FedEx operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Oakland International Airport (OAK), Miami International Airport (MIA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The agreements are expected to deliver SAF at blend ratios ranging from 30% to 50%, depending on location.
FedEx is working toward its goal to source 30% of jet fuel blended from alternative sources by 2030, while expanding the use of SAF across its U.S. air network. “The latest agreements represent an expansion of SAF within the FedEx air network enabled, in part, by state and federal level incentives,” said Greg Paulus, vice president of Enterprise Sourcing. Starting in 2025, FedEx secured approximately 5 million gallons of neat SAF through agreements that resulted in the deployment of 16.5 million gallons of blended SAF across five U.S. airports. With this next phase of procurement, SAF blends represent a significant share of FedEx jet fuel use at the airports mentioned above.
