Evos teams with Peninsula to develop biofuel storage at the port of Algeciras

August 5, 2026 |

In Spain, El Mercantil reports Evos and hybrid marine fuel supplier Peninsula have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a biofuel storage infrastructure in the port of Algeciras. This alliance contemplates the construction of up to 60,000 cubic meters of storage capacity in the Evos terminal, which will be destined entirely to Peninsula to strengthen the expansion of its biofuel supply chain in the region. The parties have not disclosed other operational or economic magnitudes of the agreement.

Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, both companies will continue technical and trade negotiations to reach a long-term storage and handling agreement, conditional on Evos’ final investment decision. Within this framework, the terminals group will be responsible for developing the project in its installation of the port of Algeciras, assuming the engineering, the processing of permits and the construction of the new facilities, while Peninsula will incorporate this capacity into its international biofuel supply network.
