European Energy, CIP, Everfuel win $1.5bn German hydrogen tender

June 4, 2026 |

In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that Danish companies European Energy, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Everfuel A/S will share $1.51 billion in subsidies after being successful in a German hydrogen auction under the European Hydrogen Bank (EHB).

The tender is part of Germany’s efforts to accelerate the development and import of renewable hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives and support the decarbonization of industry and transport across Europe. The call was run through the Auctions-as-a-Service mechanism, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) said.

The three selected projects will jointly produce 78,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually that will be transported through a planned Danish-German hydrogen interconnector. The 10-year grant agreements are due to be finalized by end-October, while deliveries of the green fuel are expected to commence in 2031, the report added.
